RSM 250 Upgrade Pumps and Skimmer Advice
I am wanting to upgrade my stock RSM 250 pump. I would like to increase my flow rate in my tank and also have pumps thats generate less heat than the stock skimmers. Anyone out there upgrade their pumps for increased flow and less heat? If so, what pumps fit/work for this upgrade?
The same goes for the sotck skimmer. I would like to upgrade to something that fits and is easier to maintain and regulate. Any insight would be GREATLY appreciated!!! THANK YOU |

Looking at the tank, I replaced the left hand pump with an eheim... You could use maxi jets if Yiu wanted. I yanked the skimmer and am now using a Nac bubble magus. Actually I'm using two. They fit in the middle section, but stick up higher that the flap thingie.. So I have to leave that open.

Thanks but I am not looking to have the lid open and prefer not to make any modifications to the tank. I am considering a Deltec.

I am now having second thoughts on the Deltec. It looks like I will have to cut a hole in the flap in order to have the skimmer fit properly. Did you have to do the same in yours? See you tube video : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mC3BQ_gBr4s
Also, do you have any insight on the pumps? Thanks! |

For the pumps I have left the left side stock and on the right side. I added the same pump as the left haha. I also have an MP10 on the tank. This seems to work well for SPS corals but I'd go with 2 MP10's if I had the choice.
Edit: I also run a chiller from the right side pump. |
