that sucks man, sorry to hear! My cherub got ich even after a lenghtly qt in hypo. possiby from the stress or possibly cause it wasnt qt long enough or properly. despite that, I bought some herbtana microbe lift, treated the tank for 2 weeks and he was fine for 6 months until losing him in the move. might be worth a shot. its in your system now so your pretty well going to see it from time to time I'm sure. but herbtana worked great for me, plus its reef safe and not stressful to the fish. I think its derived from natural oils from plants (i think.)

good luck man!

Yup, definately sucks but all is not lost as they're in the QT, so all is good

The DT is not contaminated ( at least from this fish )

After this is dealt with I'll leave the QT fallow

I'm treating with Paraguard right now and am considering doing a Hypo

I was feeling guilty about the firefish being in there, but then I recalled it came from the same system @ the store, so it already has it

Thanks for liking my 'scape Wayne
I may remove the top of the middle island down the road to make room for corals
I really like Rich's low rocks with all the big corals ballooning around

It was great meeting and talking with you too
I hope you guys had a good time at the swap in Vic

Hope the investment is treating you well

DT is going very well - nothing to report there

QT is definately infected with MI
It has come and gone every 2 or 3 days ever since Sept 1st
The Royal Gramma has always been hit by it, but now, for the first time, the Purple Firefish has a spot

I've been, since Thursday, looking for an SL1 so I can more easily monitor the pH while running hypo
I have a plan now and will be picking up a probe Monday

I'll be going for a total of 10 weeks before these critters go into the DT
2-3 days of dropping the Sg, 2-3 days while the spots go away, 4 weeks of hypo, 7 days to raise the Sg, and 4 more weeks of monitoring to see if it comes back

Yeehaw

At least they are in the QT
And I'll be able to put the LR back in the QT after all this as it'll sit fallow in a bucket in the meantime

Greg, nice to see your persistance in the QT of fishes, you are one of few that do this that actually follow through till the end!

How is the growth of corals coming along?

I can imagine how peed I'd be if I'd just tossed them in the DT

There is growth happening here and there, but nothing camera worthy yet
I'll definately get some pics up once they're worth seeing
