I am assuming that you know this but you can attack someone and not take over there planet, so you don't really need to wait for your culture to get to 4 just to attack but if you know the guy has been working then you are better off to take over his planet as you will get all his stuff.

I guess what I am saying is that you could attack him if you know you will win and then just wait till your culture is higher to take over the planet. I think that would work.

PS sorry for the long message my brain does not thing right when I am at work

At what point is it not a large fish to fry?

I would only go after a active player if I could send double what is needed to take the planet ... build up your starbases to discourage him looking at you for a meal and then go about getting your cybernets higher so your culture goes up faster.

Cheers

If you are attacking just to get to a higher player level is one thing but if you plan to take over the planet you better send the transports as well ... as I said before ... you may take down his SB with an attack but if he still has fleets on other planets he can send them and you wont have a clue they are coming till they hit you.

Cheers

he only has the one planet. I am not entirely he sure he knows what he is doing. The only concern I have is that he may have allies.

As far as I know, he doesn't even check his Pm's because the three I sent to him are still in my out box.

I want the XP and i would like the planet. He is the only other player left in the system I am in. Which would leave me room to expand before interfering in other people's game.

home planet has a star base of 9, second planet star base of 7, third star base of 2 (I just attained it yesterday)

I was planning on attacking in 2 days time with 7 transports and 45 destroyers, i have a +1 attack.

More like stupid mistakes like going after a active player and him taking his SB up to 8 from zero and wiping me out ... on the other hand I have won my share of battles as well but now I am overly cautious ... I now have planets in 5 different star systems and about to get a Basalt Monolith to help with culture levels ... If I am not the dominant player in a star system I build up my SB as high as possible as quick as possible so as to discourage attacks ... alot of players will have Physics & Math 15 now so there will be a few Cruisers and Battleships to deal with

How does this little stratagy sound? In my main Galaxy I have all players active all about the same level (from what I can tell) In a galaxy next door it looks like it has no active players- no one has loged in in nine days, zero action. So in my galaxy I have a soild planet build up with one other planet as well. I've sent a small attack force to the new galaxy to take over a non active player. I was then going to try and take over that entire galaxy as fast as possible (not very) because there seems to be no action from any player there. I would still keep adding to my main planet defences but spent most PP's in the non active galaxy.

Does that seem like a good thing to do? I was also going to contact the best player in my active galaxy to make some trade agreement.

Any comments?
Thanks
Dave

okay this makes me think about a few things...how do you spend PP that is earned on one planet on another?

You send a colony ship, half build value when they get there. But I'll build up planets PP points as well. I'll still spent points from main planet to take over planets in the other galaxy.
