might also be black stomatella I have a couple and they are good guys, only out at night.

typical Zoa Eating Nudis are grey-brown as you pictured reefwars, not black. Having said that though, since he found them on the Zoas they are likely some sort of Zoa Eating Nudi, but who knows?

Wingedfish, good call on the black Stomatellas, but they shouldn't be that difficult to remove, and a coral dip would kill them or at least make them fall off.

unfortunatlly they were not stomatellas and fortunatlly they looked nothing like the pics below... the horns or spikes were quite subtle.. i wish i could have gotten pics.... yes they were entirelly black...

black doris seaslug? that's the only matte black one i know anyway.
