Identify: Hammer coral released this.
So we have a small hammer coral, and it released this ball. Looks just like the tip of one of its long "tentacles." The hammer is still doing just fine, and the ball seems to be released due to its own will, not clipped off or anything. Is this a way of the hammer budding/spreading itself to other areas of the tank? The pic isn't very good, and you can't see the top green fluorescent part, but what do you all make of it?
Thanks in advance. Mitchell |

I have had that happen on my frog spawn lots. I think it is too much flow and they shred off sometimes. Never been a problem for me. Just make sure they don't land on other corals they still sting.

Happened to me when I first introduced my hammer to my tank. Hasn't happened since as far as I can tell. I was guessing it was just stressed out.
