Gap between tank and stand, need a solution

Hey everyone,

Have a problem with a new tank and stand.

This is a big tank at 9' long.
The stand is a metal stand purchased through tank builder, for warranty.
The tank has a piece of plywood attached to the bottom.
Instructions from builder were to place tank directly onto the stand.
I paid professional movers to bring this in and put it in place.

The tank rests on the stand on both ends and on the 2 cross braces of the stand.

However, the tank barely touches the stand on the 2 x 9' lengths.
Builder says 1 credit card thickness of gap is acceptable.
One side is particularly bad and I can fit 2 credit cards in the gap (for probably over 2 feet) in the center of the 9' span.

Any out of the box ideas on how to fix this?
I don't feel comfortable doing a water test on this beast until I can resolve this issue.

Only thing I thought of was to fill the gap with spray foam...

cut up old credit cards and slide them under like shims?

I used a thin sleeping mat under my tank. Just cut to size.

I guess part of the problem is that I'm trying to do this while it's in place.

Would have been super easy to put foam underneath when the hired movers were here, except I was told there is no need, as the tank should go directly on the stand that I bought.

Also, since I had to buy the stand for warranty purposes, I believed the metal stand would negate any of these types of problems. Or that they tested the tank and stand out before shipping it to me.

Anyhoo, short of getting a bunch of people together to lift this so I can put foam underneath, any other feasible ideas as to how to correct this problem while the tank sits in place?

or is foam going to be the only solution?

I would make sure the stand is actually level and square.

Had a member here have his tank bottom crack in half with the same set up. Wood bottom on the tank directly on the stand. Told by builder this was the way to do it. Turned out when they removed the tank, the stand wasn't square and level. Luckily they were home when it happened.

I know it will be a bunch of work, but I would pull the tank, throw a 6 foot level on the stand.

Builder can have all the warranty in the world, I still wouldn't want hundred of gallons on my floor, lost live stock, and a house remodel from water damage.

I think the wood will have give, but maybe a thin foam mat would remove slight inconsistency.

Let me ask, is this tank builder in Alberta? Calgary?

I would not want to put water in that tank until all of it is touching the stand.
I used a rubber similar to neoprene, wet suit material. Hard to compress with your fingers. It has holes in it like a sponge, but stronger.
Saw it on a work site and they were installing it between the windows and high rise. Comes in different widths and thicknesses.
I used it under my tank.
I know it will be a pain to instal, under the tank, heavy and awkward, but as target mentioned, "it will compress where needed."
