Default technique of how to shoot wrasse?

I am having difficulties to shoot my neon wrasse any suggestion? its harder than shooting humming birds, I have only manage to get 2 shots out of 40, I had to use manual focus on my x-t2 with Zeiss touit 32mm 1.8
