![]() They'll create a new cycle just like any other dead or uncured rock. Just don't add to a tank with livestock in it. My 400 was 1/3 dead rock from a garbage bin in somebodies backyard. Complete with dead leaves, dirt and grass. I cleaned it up and let it cycle without issue.

![]() Cook the rock. Being froze or dry the inhabitants are now dead. Adding to tank will have nutrients released into water.
