![]() Good Day all,
I just picked up a new matted filefish from a local fish store. He has a few white spots on him and the guy at the lfs says they are nothing and they have had him for a long time and is very healthy. What do you think they are? Are they harmless, will it be safe to put him with other fish? Thanks! Rob |

![]() Most likely lymphocystis (lympho). It's usually harmless unless it grows on the mouth area which prevents the fish from eating. Keep your water clean, keep the fish well feed and reduce stress. The fish will recover from it. Usually lympho is not that contiguous.
