FS: Cal: Dehumidifier
Forest Air 19L Electronic Dehumidifier - $75
I was hoping to get more for this, but it's on sale at Rona right now. Oh well. This is barely used because I quickly figured out that it wasn't sufficient for my tank and installed an HRV instead. . |

When did you install the HRV? Do you notice a big differentce between using the dehumidifier and an HRV?

If you are serious about reducing humidity, then an HRV is the only way to go. My HRV easily keeps humidity under control even with a 300g tank. There are lots of other secondary benifits with the fresh air exchange as well, throughout the house and in the tank room. For example, I never have to worry about elevated CO2 levels reducing the tank pH.
That said, if humidity is not a big problem and you just want to take some moisture out of the air, then a dehumidifier is a whole heck of a lot cheaper and doesn't require you to rip apart your furnace ducting. Still asking $75 firm. - Brad |
