![]() Alright so I have identified what is on my Copperband in Quarantine. I thought it was ich but after monitoring and research have identified it as the Lymphocystis Virus. There are white growths on the tips of all his fins along with one wart-like lump on the side of his body.
What to do? I have been doing some research on the virus and nothing really says there is a cure for it or a way to treat it. Has anyone had any experience of there own with this virus? What did you do? I have a leopard wrasse and diamond head goby in the quarantine with the butterfly. They are showing no signs whatsoever so far and all fish are eating very well. Not sure what to do on this one. . . . Could use some advice! |

![]() I've dealt with this on my pair of clownfish - the only thing that works for it is to make the environment less stressful for the fish, and overall just make it happier.
If your QT tank is lacking in places to hide, add rock or plastic pipes. If water quality is an issue, then work to improve it. If the fish spooks easily, cover the tank a bit to minimize view outside the tank. Basically, it's about improving the overall health of the fish. That's just about the only way to treat lymphocystis. It takes a while to clear up too. And watch out for secondary infections caused by a weakened fish.

![]() Its like a cold. It will heal on its own. Ive had a few fish with it and it goes away with time and it wont spread to another fish

![]() Keep the water quality high and it will go away. The virus spreads through physical contacts therefore watch out for aggression among fish. Keep maracyn-2 on hand to prepare to deal with secondary infections. It's usually not deadly.
