phoenix VS marineland HQI
decided to replace one of my 7 months old marineland 150w 14,000k DE with new phoenix 14,000k 150w DE. and I am suprise on how blue it is.
however it doesn't appears to be as bright as old bulb. or does it requires a week to burn in. any input will be greatly appreciated. thanks |

Different brands will burn differently. One manufacturer's 14,000K is not going to be the same as the next. All bulbs lose blue as they age, but the most noticeable difference will be in the first month.

There is no science involved in the kelvin scale... Its basically a best guess scenario decided by the manufacturer. Thats why they all look so different. The CRI index is way better. Hopefully we see it at the hobby level soon. CRI Sure made my job easier.
