![]() Dan. It looks to me as though the local isp is not allowing other smtp servers. Telus is that way. Find out who provides their internet and change your smtp settings accordingly.
Also, turn off the Norton/McAfee firewall as well as incoming and outgoing e-mail scanning Hope that helps Glenn Freeman www.myTechno-weenie.com

![]() +1 to what Glenn said. Most ISPs won't allow SMTP access outside of their own SMTP mail servers. It's a spam blocking thing. Telus, Shaw and many others do it this way.
Not alot you can do other than access your mail via a web interface and send it that way.

![]() I think I am behind a Proxy server? doing some reading and online search said I was behind a proxy. I guess this would be something the complex administration set up?
I changed my outgoing mail to port 587, that works, I can send, but not receive emails. damn IT peeps LOL

![]() See if you can change the port from 25, to port 26.
It's very common for ISPs to block using port 25 other than their own (ie; shaw email will work on port 25, but my webhosting will not work on port 25.) As a fix, more and more web hosting companies have port 25 and 26 open.

![]() Glenn is most likely right.
Telus, Shaw and other big ISP's block port 25 (SMTP). See if the company that has your domain offers an alternative IP. I am a hosting company myself, and I offer port 587 as the alternate to my customers for smtp connections, which the ISP's do not block. If they do offer this, then change the port for smtp and setup authentication to use the POP3 username and Password, you should be good to go, and never have to change it again. Good luck!

![]() When I was in Albian they had it blocked so you could'nt do that. I had to open up a gmail account. They also had it blocked for online gaming. Sucks for gamers.
