Default Silentciv's 55G

Ok, so the 20G has been retired. I needed bigger.. So with a 4ft section of wall near my kitchen seemingly wide open with the little wee 20G.. I decided a 48x18x13 could fit just perfect.. and well it does.

As you can see, the plan, since ive heard of these wonderful colored zoas, kinda turning into evil spreading carpets, I made a island for them, which both allows for easy maintance of the growth, and because it isnt overally high, allows for swiming fish to have a bit more roaming space.

Ill try to keep an update here.. since this tank has been running well over a month now.. and im just posting now.. but growth plans are already in the works

Any ideas, or comments, feel free, I love input!

Now at over two months.. I have some updates.. I havent taken pictures of tonight efforts... water too mirky after removing the skimmer and filter to apply black backing to the tank. Added some flex line to drop the skimmers pump behind the rock. Also have added some snails to my now diverse mix. I have Nassarius and Bumble Bee snails, Trochus and many Stomatella snails. I also have seen several baby turbo hitchhiker snails. Have confirmed 2 bristle worms.. one being over 2" long. But so far nothing overally negative.. here are some pics from about a week ago during my last water change.

That is my cardinal. One of two.. they were paired off for sometime..but have since with the new social setting spilt apart.. but dont seem to bother each other at all.

My black perc.. this guy has become mr. friendly in no time. Stress and this fish just dont happen.. if I go into the tank to clean, he comes up to nibble my hand within seconds.

Just a neat picture captured during a no flow moment.

Green

Pink

So far so good, thanks lorenzo. I hope to baby these and allow them to grow and do well in here.

Well.. ill update later with pictures of tonights effort.

Ya, they are looking good.. but nothing else can be bought till after the move.. so it will be a watch growth for the next few months while i save money... thinking a branching wall hammer will be a good present for myself when I get to the new place

Lorenz0 is pretty much the T5 guru. He came over and set me up there. He does good work

But yes, totally correct.

Ok... update!! march 6th, march 25th, may 5th. birds nests

By photo.. including the new stuff from RC today.. I must say.. I have a love hate with RC.. I love going in.. hate all the temptation.. so here it is.. updates! View and enjoy.

Now I realise some of my rock work looks crappy.. and thats cause it is. I had to go chase a fish that was sick and I didnt want to kill the rest of my fish with this.. so I broke my rock by accident.. But.. ill be moving (dear god I fear this day) and Ill fix the rock work that day and hopefully be back to somthing beautiful

The furthest Ive seen my sun coral open thus far.. but in contrast to all the sun coral I see at all the LFS shops around the city.. my little guys.. are giants.. like 3 times the size of other groups.. so I think they are working up to coming out as it is likely alot of work to move all that mass.

New today. Generic SPS the best kind. Currently on a scrap peice of LR till its adjusted to my tank.. then Ill find a more suitable spot. Till then, bottom with brain and sun is all good. I believe its a green slimer.. but could be wrong..

Ahh.. Zoos.. what would I do without you.. ya.. more zoos and ill say.. RC was not having a good day.. So i rolled the dice and went with these guys.. I say RC bad day for zoos cause they were all closed.

Florida Ricos.. How can you say no.. really... Look at the little shits.. just awesome little guys!

Here is a poorly photo edited shot of SPS growth.. So how it works.. left to right. March 6 from bag to rock. Then March 25 when friend came over with nicer camera than mine... and lastly. May 5th.

Now some more random shots of my tank.

Everything so far from RC is doing great.. nothing is being fusy and closing, the Zoa's opened right up and are even starting to color nicely. Ricos are doing what ricos do... and the SPS im just wishing I could fast forward like 3 months to see growth!
