Default Stinging for space

Will all corals equipped with stinging sweepers or chemical weaponry use it on neighboring corals? I'm a bit of a newb, but Im trying to plan out my tank in such a way that the inhabitants will coexist. Is this futile? Would it be better off just choosing the corals I prefer and setting up frags with ample distance between them?

Yes, most LPS and SPS corals will sting. Some softies do as well. Also be aware that many softies use chemical warfare, which they release into the water. So if you have many different types of softies you will need to run carbon to try to help absorb some of the toxins released. Best to put some distance between most corals.

Stinging is inevitable with LPS/softies. It's not easy spacing them out especially as they grow because some LPS can reach up to 6" with the stingers. Recently, I've come to the conclusion that at some point you have to let Darwin take over.
