![]() so i put the water and rock in. now have the diatom blooms. is this mean that everything is cured.
how long must i wait before i can add things. like coral and fish. or how long should i wait. what comes after the diatom blooms. |

![]() About two months. It'll feel like a life time, but it's better to wait and go slow then have fish and coral die off due to spikes in ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate. Diatom blooms are a sign that your tank is at the beginning stages of the cycle. It sucks to wait, I know because I'm going through it with my 230g but one thing I've learned is no matter how impatient I am I have to be patient with this hobby or bad things will happen.
