Default 7 hours without power.....

Well appaarently enmax is upgrading the lines in the area or something so i am going to be without power for 7 hours. what are my options for power. i have an iverter i can run off a car battery but i need to run 2 heaters and 3 pumps min. so i have no idea how long a car battery can last.

As if this wasnt enough im going to be in vegas for the weekend..... i have a roomate who is capable enough to get things done but i need a serious plan of attack.

Long story short anyone have a generator i could borrow for a day???

A inverter and car batt. wont last that long you will need a generator. 7 hours without power is a long time good luck if you have to rent one I would get on it fast as you wont be the only one with out power and they could be in short supply

Good luck

Try Home Depot, I found myself having to rent one there a couple weeks ago.

I bought one of these little two stroke generators for my tent trailer and it works great. It was on sale for 125.99 a few weeks ago. I hope the link works. Its from Canadian tire and is actually pretty quite too. It also has a DC outlet with cables to charge regular car batteries. It runs about 6-7 hours on a tank of fuel as well.

Make sure you ask about the return policy on it if it has something wrong with it. CT has real weird return policies.

That sounds a bit excessive. Can't you try a test this weekend to see what happens if you run your tank on 1 pump, 1 battery operated aerator and 1 heater. For a tank to survive (not thrive) for short periods of time it only requires oxygen and heat (remember most corals\fish are transported a lot further than that via airplane with less than that). I bet a Noma UPS could work for you. I've had mine run for 12+ hours with just one Nano stream and one heater. Plus one of those battery powered air pumps. If it looks like the UPS is about to lose power you could always recharge it with your car inverter.

i have to run this many becasue i have 3 tanks going. the FW im too worried about as a battery op air pump would prob be enough. but i have 45 sw upstairs and a rsm downstairs. these each would need 1 ph and a heater. i have koralias lying around all i need is power.

What size inverter do you have and what's the amp/hr rating of your car battery? If you car battery is rated at 100 amp/hr when fully charged, theoretically it can provide 1 amp for 100 hours. Knowing all your variables, you can figure out how many amps max the equipment you need requires and that should give you an idea if your car battery/inverter set up will last for 7 hours. If you can get your hands on a marine deep cycle battery, that's even better. They're designed to handle being fully discharged better than a car battery. I'd say two marine deep cycles will be more than enough.
