![]() Hi,
I’m about to aquascape 50-ish lbs of liverock in my 37G column tank… I need inspiration, does anyone know of a good site or links to photos of different layouts? I have one really tall 21” piece of finger rock that I want to stand up. The picture below shows my rock has been temporarily set up for curing. Any ideas? Thanks for any input. DSC_0592.jpg |

![]() I have to agree that I like it the way it is, but would also try to hide some of the equipment. I really like the tall piece.

![]() Wow, thanks for the fast response…
Ya that’s temporary, I have no background yet and I will move/hide the gear. Speaking of backgrounds, what do you think: black, blue, other? Any other feedback? Thanks |

![]() It does look real good the way it is now. I would paint the back of the tank a tourquoise blue. This colour will compliment the coralline that will eventually grow on the glass.

![]() Ditto on the backing. Blue is the color I went with. Black is just too dark. I'd say with that much rock the way you have it set up already is about right. Its hard to aquascape tall tanks with small footprints.

![]() I have a 92gal corner tank which also has the small footprint / tall tank dimensions, and I also started with a tall 2' piece of dead coral and rock. I put it right in the back corner and built a base of big slabs of tuffa rock radiating out from there. Then I put all my live rock on and around that stable foundation. Came together far nicer than expected and has remained essentially unchanged for the past 3 years.
So I guess my only advice would be to put your biggest pieces down first around the spire and build on that. Try to make a couple good sized tunnels with the large pieces. Looks good so far.
