Anybody ever had their hermit crabs lay eggs? I noticed this happening a couple of days ago and I think everyone else in the tank enjoyed a meal of them.

It was my personal belief that hermits would not reproduce in captivity. I heard it had something to do with the lunar cycles and the tide? Are you sure it wasn't your snails?

Yep-I had some HC carrying their eggs with them in their shells and then poof-gone. I too assume my fish had some extra protein that day. I haven't seen any that actually made it...yet.

One of the members on AlbertaAquatica actually had their hermits lay eggs I think...name of the member was Slough Shark.
