What corals can go in FOWLR
It would be nice down the road to have a FOWLR with some added color. Are there any types of corals at all that can be put in FOWLR tank? Corals that won't be decimated by Triggers or butterflies, or Angels?

i thought ppl had fowler tanks because they wanted to keep fish that werent compatable with corals.........other wise youd just be turning ur fowler tank into a reef tank........ wouldnt you?

Hehe, NO corals can go into a FOWLR tank, or else it is a reef!
You will have to list what fish you have in the tank for people to recommend any corals that might survive though. |

Besides knowing what fish you have in your system you will also have to list what your lighting, water flow and probably system perameters are. FOWLR usually tend to run with higher nitrates which is also not very compatible for corals.
Depending on all that it may be possible to turn the tank into a semi reef. |

I had very hardy corals like toadstools and cabbage in my old fowlr. They survived being in with large angelfish. Like Ruth stated, we need to know the fish list of the fowlr to give proper recommendations.

Thats what I'm wondering about, if there are some corals that won't be eaten. What about GSP and other sea mats?

I have had limited success with keeping mushrooms in a FOWLR with triggers and puffers....but anything with fine pollyps wouldn't stand a chance.

I can suggest a bunch of things, but the answer to the lighting question is pretty important !
