Default bracing tank

i have a 65 gal tank that i am starting up. i have to remove the plastic brace along the top in order to use my aqualight pro (blocks the center MH). what do you suggest i used for bracing (any good DIY articles) and perhaps where in calgary is a good place to get scrap glass?

I'd simply silicon in a replacement piece of glass, or maybe two, both offset to each side of the center halide. 3/8th" glass would probably do the trick. No idea where to get glass in calgary though!

i have read about people doing the center glass braces, but what about 2 smaller braces at 1/3 and 2/3 tank length or something? the tank is 36x18x24
