Default Clear PVC

Anybody know why clear PVC is so much more expensive than acrylic? I wanna use PVC so that I can use PVC fittings. The clear PVC was about 5 times more expensive than the acrylic!

Default Clear PVC

Yeah, clear PVC isn't worth it. AFAIK hardly anyone is actually using it anymore. Most people are going acrylic these days. The extruded is more or less inexpensive, the "cell-cast" is more expensive (still cheaper than clear PVC though) because it's apparently far more durable, more clear (I think), and thicker (so bonds better).

But, I beleive you can use your PVC fittings and bond to acrylic using that acrylic weld-on bonder. I could be wrong on this, so someone can jump in here and correct me. But most DIY projects I've seen with acrylic tubing seems to involved PVC fittings at some point. So there must be a way to merge the best of both worlds here, just involves a bit of craftiness perhaps.
