![]() As the title says. I woke up today and BAM I see my yellow tang upside being devowered by my four hermit crabs. What happened!? It was perfectly fine yesturday. I am so confused.
Water Parameters Ph- 8.2 Salinity- .24 Nitrite- o ppm Nitrate- 0 ppm Ammonia- oppm What, my parameters are great!? How come he died? I had it for about eight months. Yesturady I added a Tiger Cowrie, Hairy Leg Hermit and two unknow hermits. There are no signs of it fighting with something on its skin. Any ideas what killed it? Matt

![]() Im not sure where you got the fish, but thats what tends to happened to fish caught with cyanide. Just drop dead one day. But it could be lots of other things as well.

![]() Cyanide, I never thought about that. Is there any way to tell if it died of cyanide? I have the body in the freezer.

![]() dont think u can.....but if it was going to dye due to being caught with cyanide, it would have died long ago..not 8 months later.......cyanide caught fish usually dont eat.....or eventually stop eating after about a week....then they die

![]() I think it can take a long time for cyanide cought fish to die, what happens is they seem fine they eat, but the cyanide wrecks there digestive system so what they eat is not properly digested and the nutrients and vitamins taken from the food is not processed, thus a fish dies but can take quite a while.
