I am in need of an experienced plumber who has enough parts in their truck to replace an outside shut-off for me. After looking at it I've decided I don't want to open a can of worms. Idealy I'd like to install a wall hydrant but we'll talk as I don't think the location will accomodate it.

Anyway, I bought a compression 1/2 BV but don't think I can get the existing plumbing apart without cutting and then replacing a section. This I'm not going to do and end up with no home water while I search for parts. If you're interested in trading your time/labor for corals, or some side cash, please PM me with your name and # I have the following available for trade, and I'll be generous if you will; http://www.canreef.com/vbulletin/sho...d.php?t=126424 http://www.canreef.com/vbulletin/sho...d.php?t=126530 It's the blue valve which the dumb-ass builder installed as a bleeder instead of as a drain http://i749.photobucket.com/albums/x...pstcvjfusq.jpg ![]() |

			 1) This isn't reef related.

	2) What the hell are you trying to do? |

Yes. I'm asking what you need done, as your plumbing terminology is confusing me.

I'm needing to replace that blue valve. It's the outside shutoff.

Easy. Does the copper on the left go to an outside hose spigot?

A wall hydrant is a through-wall non-freeze shutoff that allows you to turn off the outside water.

Yes. I just don't want to deal with the soldered elbow etc.

			 Ok.

	1. The blue valve is broken? 2. Why replace a hose spigot with a hydrant if you can shut the water off inside for the winter? So many questions. If it can wait until next week, I'm off. |
