![]() It varies from tank to tank (humidity, temperature, etc.). My tank do 10 gallon every week so yours is nothing compared to mine (mine is a 70 gallon).

![]() Your tank is pretty typical. Really the only thing you can do is put glass or acrylic covers on your tank top and sump but this can cause other problems: reduced light to corals, more cleaning to do, potentially reduced air water contact area.
Most reefers just deal with it and rig up an auto top off system that draws from a reservoir that you only have to refill maybe once per week. Personally my system loses between 6-8 litres every day! |

![]() this weekend i added a 90 degree elbow to my protein skimmer outtake and its seems to be working, i have noticed less salt creep and less air bubbles in the sump, i though of adding a filter sock on the down pipe to further help reduce salt creep

![]() I have to top off roughly 8 gallons in my 1000 gallon system, 4-5 gallons in my 220 system, and a litre in my 65 gallon system.
I just add it every morning.

![]() No idea as mine is now automated, but when it was manual, running MH lighting, about 5g per day.

![]() I have an approximate total water volume of 550g and my tank needs about 2-3g/day in the summer and I'm thinking a bit more in the winter, around 4g/day.

![]() 144 gallon display, 50 gallon sump
I use about 3 gallons a day Mine is low because as others have mentioned, surface agitation increases evaporation. I use a Beananimal overflow so no bubbles and my skimmer vents under water so again ... no bubbles. I have virtually no salt creep in my sump and area. |
