![]() I'm building a sump and am wondering what the water height should be in the skimmer chamber. I am going to run a vertex 180 in the sump.
Anyone know what the water height should be? |

![]() The baffle I put in is 17" I guess I'll cut it out and shorten it then.

![]() I run mine at 8-10. My sump water level is probably 12" and I put the skimmer on a shelf. Works great!

![]() 8" to 10" height is standard for most sumps as a skimmer "box" height.

![]() I wouldn't cut your baffle height down. Use some eggcrate and pvc to build a stand to raise the skimmer to whatever height you want. Here's a picture I found of one as an example.
