I made arogrocrete and poured it over eggcrate to make panels and then siliconed the panels to the backs and sides ... they are covered in coraline and bugs now so help with nitrate reduction ... there is 450lbs of live rock plus " the wall "

I suppose the streams could have worked but I figure that I am at least doubling the output of a Mag 18 which only costs $ 200 CDN and 2 eductors at about $ 40 for the pair ... so for $ 240 CDN I am getting about 3600 GPH ... If I change the pumps to even a Mak 4 @ 1190 GPH ( but is pressure rated and about the same price as a Mag 18 ) I could potentially boost the output of the 2 eductors up to 4800 GPH per side so with both pumps and 4 eductors I could get up to 9600GPH from my current 7200GPH ... and a Mak 5 would plaster the fish to the sides of the tank ! ...

Steve, bloody brilliant tank. I'm having a new tank delivered and I have been considering putting in a couple of Mag9s. Do you have them under your rock? If so, how to you keep them clean or remove them? I assume you have a cover over the intake?

I love the aragocrete back wall, that's awesome. wow.. simply.. wow

Doug
PS where did you get those nozzle things?

Looks great! It must be a challenge to fill a tank that big. What type of lighting are you using to light that beast?

Thanks Doug ... I am using 2 closed loops ... on each side behind the rockwork and about 8" above the sand is a 1 1/2" screened intake ( about 1' 6" from the ends ) ... this comes out the back of the tank and up to the Mag 18 and then outputs on the opposite side of the tank through the eductors ... I have valves on everything so I can take the punps out to clean them and I made the intakes larger so that I can upgrade the size of the pumps down the road.

I will find the link to the eductors for you ... I think you need a pump with a bit more gusto to run them though

EDIT : here is the link ... http://www.kthsales.com/website/vend...g_eductors.htm

Cheers
