![]() Hi Guys, I picked up some Live rock and got two hitch hikers i'm concerned about. Was hoping someone could help me out as to what they are and if they're ok to keep!
The first two are of a starfish that moves really quickly, his legs are about a 3-4 inches long! I am aware that i got a few brittle stars with the rock but one of this size??? http://img185.imageshack.us/i/img00426201005241718.jpg/ http://img227.imageshack.us/i/img00434201005241726.jpg/ And this is some sort of tube worm.. disgusting little thing to be honest, looks like an alien when it comes out. shoots out this sticky web that gets all over the place.. Not very keen on this little critter.. what can i do with him??? http://img710.imageshack.us/i/img00437201005242021.jpg/ Thanks for any advice guys! ![]() |

![]() hey the first set of pictures are brittle star fish. They are reef safe for the most part.
the second one is actually a pest. I cant remember the name of it but the web like slime that it spews out is actually how it catches its food but the slime is toxic to most corals and will sting them. i would get rid of it as soon as possible.

![]() well if it isnt attached to any rock, pull the whole tube out of your tank and chuck it. If it is attached to the rock, pull the rock out of thhe tank and chissel the thing off and chuck it.

![]() For the mucus casting worm (the name escapes me now) plug the end of the tube with some gel superglue applied underwater over the hole.
