I seen some bubble magnus on e-bay. I bought a Tunze 9010 for my 155 used from a Member and it is working great. From what I learned when looking for a skimmer was double check, heck triple check the amount of room you have for your skimmer. That's just my 2 cent's by NO MEANS an expert.

Lol the seller is trying to make a sale IMO.
Other brands that have been mentioned already in this thread will all work MUCH better than that. The Coralife super skimmer will be very far from plug and play and not perform as well as other skimmers for the same price. Cheers, Chris

I'd say the Coralife skimmer is okay if you can get one cheap. I bought a used one (essentially free as it was a package deal with a light fixture) and it isn't bad. It does skim a nasty dark green stuff out of my water. It runs well as long as you have a constant water level and clean it every 3 to 6 months. But I wouldn't buy one brand new. As others said you can get better skimmers in the same price range.

Coralife's are average.
IMO, I would look at buying a used Euro Reef, Tunze or Hydor, as buying used would be better than buying something new at the same price point. You are not going to get anything really top notch for your price point when buying brand new.

What ever brand you buy make sure it mixes at least 600 Lph of AIR.
Anything less then that you will be waisting your money. |

I use an aquamedic T1000 my self I like it, I would like to try one of the new designs also. There is someone in Vernon BC that has one I would like to see it in action. I saw Vernon Bc posted on a internet store review post site.
He says it works better than any others he has used up to now, but who realy knows until you talk to the person and maybe see it in operation as it is a new model. Bill |

Just to let you know; in the beginning ASM and Euro-Reef were the same thing, or basically. It started as one company. It was split into two parts... ASM basically became the lower end version of a Euro-Reef for awhile. Now they really are totally different skimmers, I don't think they can be compared to each other. The euro-reef is 'in general' a better skimmer, but they also cost more.
Cheers, Chris
