I have been cycling with base rock and some raw shrimp and clam. Should I remove the rotten prawn and clam ? If so, do I add a new prawn back in for more ammonia?

So I got some free chaeto(for marine fauna with pods) and a churro looking thingy from my friends reef tank hopefully this will seed my tank




Ohh I managed to relocate the mame skimmer back to chamber 2 by converting the mounting bracket with some magnets

update.. today is day 24th.
on the final stage of cyclying, algae blooming CUC is mowing at it right now.. have been dosing MB7 everyday, did a 50% water change 4 days ago dont know why my Nitrate is VERY high between 50-100 NH3 and NO2 is almost undetectable.... now what should i do to reduce the high nitrate? I have to transfer my livestock from the other tank very soon cuz my otherhalf has been bitching me for that for the past 10 days... should i perform another wc? or go get some NO3 dosing liquid?

If ammonia is zero, you can probably hold back on dosing MB7 and let the bacteria currently in your tank stabilize in population. Water changes bring down nitrates the fastest. 50% water change will remove 50% of the nitrates. If your nirates are still rising, even with only CUC as your livestock, you have something rotting in your tank. Possibly organics on the rocks that have to work their way out, or your bacterial cultures are dying off, possibly from adding too much MB7 which brings me back to letting the bacteria stabilize in your tank.
