My girlfriend's really into birds. If you got a list of them i'll let her know. She really like Conures and Parrotlets. Let me know.

ok so what I need to find out is what is a reasonable price to pay for a breading pair of africian greys, a austrailian king parrot, and the price to pay for a Timneh grey parrot.

ya we are trying to find out what to sell them for.. I can't find an american or canadian breader with a web site that lists austrailian kings, only ausi ones that say it is against the law to export them so they can't sell them internationaly.. seams to be they should be worth a lot but can't fidn a figure anywhere except 500.00 in austrailia but that doesent do anyone any good as they have to stay there..

Hey, this is Jason's wife here. Things I'd like you to consider are:

1: Parrots such as Greys live a VERY long time, 50-60 years at least. Don't just think of the monetary value, think of their quality of life and try to find them forever homes with experienced bird people.

2. If your Australian Kings aren't available here, it's because they were wild caught and not suitable for the pet trade. See
http://www.cites.ec.gc.ca/eng/sct0/index_e.cfm for info

3. For resources to help you find responsible homes try:
http://www.greyhaven.bc.ca/
West Coast Tropical Bird Studio - Vancouver (604)733-6250
Night Owl Bird Hospital (604) 734 5100

I am aware of all this and they are not my birds. the people who own the birds are totaly aware of the responcibilities but they need to sell them and they are not about to give thim away for a steal as they have an idea what they are worth. the austrailian kings are and interesting thing as they had to have been captive bread or they would never have been allowed into canada as it has been a lont time sence they have been allowed to be exported from austrailia. at any rate the boarder just opened for austrailian kings to the US from Canada. I will be finding more about the birds out today hopefully.
