Talking 10g bowfront tank/34g cube

Awhile ago I saw Blue world had a cute little orange/red frogfish that I thought was adorable but I know they need a tank all to themselves and they're not cheep so I resisted the urge to buy it. However after seeing the pictures SeaHorse_Fanatic posted of his I knew I had to get one of my own.

So during the tank tours I saw Neal wasn't using his 34g cube tank and I thought it would make a good froggy tank and thankfully he sold it to me for an excellent price However Doug mentioned it would be nice to have the 34g for all his little gobies in his 30g tank so he wouldn't have to move his 30g and 110g all at the same time, which made sense.

However I really wanted this little froggy guy and he had been at the LFS for quite awhile and was eating silversides and krill really well. So I looked around my house, I had an old 10g bowfront tank, an old computer stand (that I bought but never used from Jysk), an extra heater, nano powerhead and nano remro skimmer from my old 20g tank and I had bought some more LR recently and have lots in my display.....so.....I got ambitious and set it all up a few weeks ago and thought I should finally post pictures. He was more of a pale pink then red/orange when I first got him, but still, he's awsome.

When I first got him

Coloured up a bit since I put red macro algae in

You already know I love this setup, but I'll say it again, I love this setup! I so want to do something like this myself some day.

What do you do for topup on this tank, just bucket brigade it for now?

How often do you need to feed him? Everyday or does he fill up and then take a break?

It's only a 10g so it doesn't evaporate much, I have a Tupperware container that I use to scoop up RO water with (from my rubbermaid top off container on my big system) and I top it off every day. So far he usually eats one krill every other day. He also eats silversides but prefers krill.

OK, so I'll take the blame for this one too

Used to it.

hehehe.

Looking good. Hopefully with the red macro to camouflage against, it'll recolour back up. Mine has kept its colour well in its little 8g Fluval Floral tank.

As you should

I've actually wanted a red frogfish for awhile, seeing the pictures of yours and knowing there was one just like it at Blue world motivated me to put a tank together and get it.

So far the red marco seems to be helping, he loves hanging out in it and his colour has gotten darker since I added it.

Rock is in The "Ideas for aquascapeing thread" had these pic's in it

Which inspired me to do this (took a few tries and a small puncture in my finger to it get to right and fairly stable). I am pretty happy with the way it turned out. Water isn't entirely clear yet as I just finished scaping not to long ago but you get the idea

Thanks it took me an hour and a half to get it done, but all in all it wasn't to bad, and like how it turned out (which normally doesn't happen when I aquascape it myself). I have to admit the pic ideas helped me stick to a plan so it was easier to follow though on that idea then to place rock where ever and hope it looks good
