![]() They are 16" long by 9" wide. There are 55 x 3w LED's running at about 2w each to produce 120w of light per unit. Each fixture has two cords and 2 manual dimmers. One channel is the actinics and the other is the daylight. I used a power bar and timer and later an Aquacontroller to turn them on and off. I had 4 over a 72"long by 30" wide by 22"deep tank. They provided a nice white light and grew sps and lps from top to bottom.
These units were very common 18 months ago and sold under an endless number of brand names for a 400-500% markup from LFS. I ordered mine direct from China and they are supposed to be Cree LED's. I selected the LED's using a lot of input from Reefcentral at the time and used a manufacturer that had earned a good reputation on Reefcentral. Each LED has a 120 degree lense on it to spread out the light and a glass cover protects all the LEDs and lenses. There is no spotlighting. Each unit also has 3 fans for cooling. The LED's cover all needed spectrums to grow coral, including 2 kinds of white, red, green, uv and 2 actinic wavelengths. I no longer have the exact details on the LED's, the hard drive the details were on appears to be beyond recovery. If I had to do it over I would change nothing. Compared to brand name LED fixtures you get a lot of bang for the buck with these. Since the LED's are only running at 2w, they should last a very long time and it needed, are individually replaceable. I don't think you could build these yourself for this kind of price. You can find similar fixtures on eBay for $129 USD plus shipping, but they use Bridgelux LED's. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for your interest. |
