You say you blasted the bottom .. Do you have sand?
I'm wondering if you created some ammonia when you stirred things up, or if you have sand you disturbed some gasses such as hydrogen sulphate ?
Just some thoughts ...

Did you test your new water before using it? Alk ca and mag ..
Maybe your salt bucket is a bit out of whack ?

I'm sure things will turn around as you say they are starting to open up again
