Riceboy office nano

Well seeing how I'm at the office most of the day and don't get to really enjoy my home tank till 9 pm every night, I gave decided to start up an office tank. I had a custom nano built by concepts.

Here are some specs on the tank.

18x18x12 with coast to coast overflow durso design
30x20x16 sump with ato and dosing chamber built in.
Ai prime with tank mount kit
Vertex omega 130 skimmer
Jebao ato
Jebao dcs 7000 return pump
Vertex 1.5 l reactor running bio pellets
Jegar 100 heater

I must admit the vertex 130 skimmer has been the biggest pain in the ass to adjust. But have finally gotten it to work properly. So far so good only hick up so far is the ato sensor not working properly, will be heading back to concepts and replacing that this Friday. Other than that just the typical cycling so far.

Very cool tank! Can't wait to see it flourishing. I assume the tank was built by concept? Seems like they do spot on work. I think I'll be going to them when it's time for an upgrade.

Looks good brew! Im jelly. I have been trying to set up an office nano for months, but we're renovating and the dust is insane. I have to wipe down my office every day. Lol.

Im confused about that sump. Are the two bulkheads from the right chamber just drains to the other section?

you are correct mike. just trying to keep the noise down and maintain as much water volume as i can for the live rock being added in that section.

Suggestion: Go to local hydroponics shop and see if they'll sell you a gallon of hydroton. Add this into that section instead of live rock and it'll help control your nitrates, as well as nitrites and ammonia. I have never found live rock, no matter how much I had in my systems, did much for nitrate control. Hydroton (media developed for aquaponics) is very effective at reducing nitrates in my experience and several other local reefers around here who now have it in our sumps and media reactors. Its also a lot cheaper and more environmentally friendly than live rock. Should only cost about $10/gallon or so.

I have some hydroton kicking around from my vivarium build....I may have to give this a try in my frag tank.
