Default Trying NEW Refugium Lighting

Was at Home Depot yesterday and they are selling a daylight spiral CFL. Labelled Marathon and is 23 watts equivalent to 80 watts incandescent, no reflector, costs $7.95. No color temp is specified, but as marketed as daylight so i assume somewhere around 6000K

Very bright and puts out a very white light. Will see how it does on my refugium. tried the other bulb that was mentioned on RC that's available at Home Depot and was not impressed, I think the color temp is just too low.

I used to suppliment my tank with a dual incan. fixture in which I put two energy savers. Worked great to add estetic yellow lighting to my very blue tank at that time. Panasonic makes bulbs that are a very white/blue light, but they are more expensive. I too will be using these over my refugium when it set up.
