They do. And people use them. But the wires don't get wet. They are on the outside of the tank.

Brad, you are killing me. I thought you wanted to be able to remove/clean your pumps without dealing with the wires. This is basically a quick disconnect at the glass. The pump and propeller for the Vortech is wireless as I understood.
