Same reason they try to sign up with spammer accounts, post things like iphone ads, etc. They get paid some amount for every link they post. I've gotten very good at filtering them at sign up (sometimes 30 per day) and now I guess they want to try existing accounts.

Just make sure you have a complex password, should be fine.
