All wood construction for the hood. Apparently I've reached my photo upload limit so can't upload a photo for you...

It's a 2x6 vertical backbone and the top (roof) portion being 2x4's which I bolted into the top of the vertical section with 4 massive 8" bolts running down the core of the 2x6's. Super strong and it isn't all that long so flex is minimal.
