Sad day as I am feeding my fish and cannot see my regal tang...after spending some time looking through the entire tank ...there he was on the bottom under the 3 foot shelf rock lays cold no movement

After having him roughly 7 years ago from a friend and gone through different changes and a tank move with a carpet surfing for enough time to render him bloody and dried up...the toughest fish I ever had...well R.I.P. Maybe old age as no other fish show any stress signs...swimming and eating well... |

Unfortunate. I still have my oldest, a Maroon clown, but have lost several fish that I had almost since I started the tank up in early 2007. Also lost a few that were added later, but it seems you do get more attached to your first or oldest critters. Amazing how tough & fragile they can be at the same time, survive carpet surfing & then simply expire without apparent reason. Lost a Yellow tang a while back & no idea what happened, just found him on the bottom one morning, some of the cleanup crew had already started doing their thing.

Time to go shopping? I replaced the Yellow & the new addition is doing great.

I feel your pain. I recently lost my Leopard wrasse I've had over 6 years. I watched it transition from a female into a male. That was a sad day.

Thanks guys for the kind words...it is the hardest when I stare at my tank and usually the 1st fish in my face would be my buddy regal.
