Also, those high values, are you getting those values before you've even started dosing or have you been dosing for a while now? Those are quite high values! You must be using some expensive high content salt or you are already dosing some of those elements ?

new readings today
ca 550 KH/alk 8.3 Mg 1550 why are my par going up when i havent dose anthing yet, my alk is going higher should it be the other way around as in getting lower, i did change about 8gallons of fresh salt water 3 days ago, hmmm strange, will conti to test for the next 7-8 days, see where iam at |

Reef Foundation C (Magneium) Disolve 1kg of powder into 1.7L of RO/DI water. The amount of cal/alk/mag that your corals are consuming is the big question mark. If you have lots of corals, you can test every 24hrs without making any changes to see how much they consume. If you only have a few corals, you will need to wait longer to see any effect of consumption. Do not dose calcium or magnesium until your corals have consumed them. Once your levels are good, then you can begin dosing to maintain those levels. If you are using a salt mix that is high in cal/mag, you probably won't need to dose cal/mag until you have more corals.
