Bean animal baby, only way to go!!!!!
I actually woke up in a panic a few nights ago to the sound of rushing water. Turned out to be a crab stuck in the intake of my return pump. It was niagara falls flowing over my coast to coast.
Half hour of "middle of the night" maintenance, but no biggie.

Grab one of these leak alarms:



If you don't have one (or two) already, that is. I saw them at Rona for under $15.

I have one in the sump area, as well as behind both ends of the tank and beside the RO in case of an emergency. They squeel real loud and will dart you out of bed if something should go wrong again.
