My aragonite was 10 yrs old when I acquired it and my system is going on 5yrs. I've never vacuumed at all let alone a 5" x 5" spot. My tank is still fine. Haha. Albert, I don't think you're going to start a revolution. You did however provoke discussion.

You're what I'd call "lucky".

For the rest of us mere mortals who have to schlack all day against the evils of neverclean, aka aragonite, we just want some respite.

Bet if you were using FW gravel, you'd have exactly the same results.
