Hmmm hard to tell looks like crabicus pincherus , but seriously its seems to be a type of mirthrax crab , the spoon shaped pincers are for picking algae . There usually harmless but any crab has the potential to be a jerk.

Default Crab

Spoon shaped pinchers would be correct. So far he has been OK and not a jerk! but the point is well taken. If he starts to misbehave out he will go to the" time out box". So far he just picks up detritus and cleans up.

Never seen any with red eyes before. All I have looked at are black. Yes a little creepy

If you decide you want him out of your tank, let me know. I'll take him. I am a bit of a crab-a-holic and have a number of them in my tank.
