![]() 80 degree's is what I'm at, and have been told and read that keeping your temp. constant is what's more important than what you are set for.

![]() 77 (when lights off). Goes up to 79 (with lights on). Can reach 80-82 (on a really hot day in the summer). Cooling fans kick in at 80. Lights automagically cut out if tank hits 83.

![]() Yes, but let's say I set my controller for a variance of 1 degree C. That's actually giving me a variance of more than 1 degree F, so I use F for all my settings. It just gives finer control. That, and I grew up in the black and white days

![]() My tank is running around 78 +or- . I read somewhere (and I can't find the article again) that while corals may benefit from warmer temps, many of the fish we keep actually have shorter overall lifespans at those warmer temps and actually thrive in a bit cooler temps. If memory serves me correctly they recommended a constant temp of between 78 - 80 to be the optimum temp for everything to be healthy.

![]() So thanks to everyone, still lots of opinions about the "Right" temp, so after reading all your thoughts and reading on line about coral and fish metabolism I have set my temp at 79 and set with a controller so will be stable.
