![]() I've always preferred TOTM articles over build threads. Builds generally just get too cluttered with useless posts especially on RC, it becomes too laborious to find any real information in them. The articles on the other hand are so nice and precise, it only takes a few minutes to learn nearly everything there is about a great looking tank. That being said my favourite has always been Chris Ward's tank from October 2006 http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2006-10/totm/index.php He was one of the few to adopt the less is more approach and just let his coral grow huge (only 28 in a 273gal tank). Which to me is far more impressive than so many of these other tanks which have stuffed every square inch of their tank with name brand frags.

![]() This is not a build thread but a summary from many people, and since I love SPS, it's my favorite place to go to drool.

![]() Been through this thread many times. Leads to a bunch of sweet builds though most are in Italian:

![]() Guys, I've seen this tank in person and I've spent time with Peter and Shawn at MACNA...he really does love the hobby. He has money, there is no doubt and he has hired help to work on the tank, but he tries to be as involved as he can in taking care of the tank as well.
If you look at it another way, I love the show Tanked just because it gets my family (who enjoy it too) to be more appreciative of my hobby. The sheer number of U-tube viewings on Peters tank have probably done a lot for getting people excited about the hobby we love so much. Just my thoughts but seeing that tank makes you forget where you are for as long as you are in front of it.

![]() I certainly don't question his involvement I just don't like the vibe of self-importance I get when I read his thread. Maybe it's my flawed perception but I enjoy Ching Chai's build much more. To me at least, his build completely lacks that feeling.

![]() Sucks, but he will show publicly how he over comes this. So this type of education is also good for the hobby. R.
