hmm, never thought of soap residue...

ive never used soap but maybe ill run a short cycle before i wash them from now on just to be sure

I use 200 micron I am collecting dirty socks in a 5 g bucket of RO water. I have 10 socks that I cycle. I have not done a load of socks yet, I guess the 1 wash with some bleach,double rinse, then one wash with just water and a double rinse should do it.

Im washing my filter socks in batches of four to six..I pour bleach in the normal wash cycle..after they are finished i place a capful of de-chlorinator in a pail to remove any bleach from the filter socks..(as per the wisdom of a certain reefer on this site) works great!
