I am not an expert on the subject but I would assume that bacteria settles throughout the reef and doesn't simply stay in the water column therefore I would guess that it would be best to dose after a water change to help "recharge" the reef.

Just added a Maroon clown I picked up from a local reefer - she is a big bruiser. To put things in perspective this toadstool is about 8 inches across.

This stylo is an extreme pink (hard to capture the color) but around a couple of burn spots where an acro fell into it the new growth polyps are bright green - it will be interesting to see if this continues to morph over time or turn back to their regular color.
