Very nice! you have some very nice looking eels!

I admire these guys every time I'm in my LFS. They have a bunch in a DT.

So very very cool! I got one, when I first started...wow what a mistake...they are a very tough species but SO incredibly cool! Nicely done!

It's not spam it's my own thread :P

So today was the first time I saw all 7 out at the same time. That means no losses thus far. A couple are smaller and certainly seem to have a bit more trouble getting food, some of the bigger ones are almost as bad. One of the brine shrimp was a bit bigger then the rest and when it floated over one of the bigger ones who at the time was happily consuming them he ducked for cover and did not come back up for several minutes.

They seem to be slowly peaking out more and more of the sand. The splendid one is worse then the rest. Interestingly enough one has settled on the shallow side and still has not moved over. He also appears to be the most ok with having a large portion of his body out of the sand, but I know he's burried sideways as he does retreat into the sand as well.

I actually got some really nice photos, and yes they are even scared of the camera (sometimes).

I've thought about adding a deep sand area into my tank before to be able to accomodate them. I've always been worried about being able to support their need for food as well as housing them with other fish. I'm looking forward to following this tank.

I will eventually upgrade the lighting (currently ONE par38 bulb) but for now I am concentrating on getting the eels settled. I've started to feed them chopped up mysis which has more nutritional value then brine but they still seem to prefer brine. 6/7 are now eating regularly which is not bad since I read to expect up to 50% losses with these guys.

Here is a not so great quality video when I first tried out the dosing pump and brine shimp

I took a couple more videos since that are a little better quality I will upload them tonight.
