![]() Here are pics of the Icecap ballasts inside the ballast enclosure.
Seems to be these ones: http://www.seaquestmarine.com/IceCap...p/ic_150mh.htm . Last edited by Samw; 06-20-2012 at 03:52 AM. |

![]() Will now ship the 2 ballasts without the big external housing. $100 plus $15 for shipping regular parcel within canada.
The aluminum canopy has a nice reflector and a glass shield and would be good for retrofiting. $20 pickup only. Last edited by Samw; 06-27-2012 at 08:26 PM. |

![]() Was just using this before I upgraded to Kessils 3 weeks ago.
One switch needs to be fixed but the switch can be bypassed for a hardwired connection of course. Still willing to part out and sell the Icecap 150w HQI electronic ballasts for $50 each. Can see it working before I cut the ballasts out of the switch box. Last edited by Samw; 02-14-2015 at 10:02 PM. |

But even if you are talking about the fixture, no it cannot be shortened to 30". The ballasts are like this: http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2004/9/review "I'm using IceCap's 150 watt electronic ballast. I have long-term experience with this ballast since I've used it on another aquarium for the past 18 months as well. It's small (fits in the palm of your hand), lightweight, quiet and barely gets warm to the touch. I'm able to mount it safely out of the way on the inside wall of my aquarium stand with no concern for heat buildup. It's a major improvement over the cinderblock griddle that I used previously." ![]() |

![]() Ok, I'll have to measure the box, weigh it and get back to you on the shipping cost.
